January Romance-o-poly

January Romance-o-poly

I’m a few days late on my January Romance-o-poly round-up. After a super busy week last week that lasted in to the weekend, I got behind. I did finish my January Progress post, which you can find HERE. That post is a quick run down of the words written, books read (not just my #Romance-o-poly books), television shows I’m streaming, and books bought–for January, anyway!

But this post is focused solely on my first month completed for #Romance-o-poly! (Well, it’s really only been a couple weeks, for me. I got started late.)

First, let me just say, I am loving this challenge! I love the boards and the creators just did an amazing job creating those. I had posted an instagram post when I started with my “board” but I’ve changed it since then. First, because I didn’t initially have colored ink so it didn’t look that great. But then, when I did get the ink I changed it up. I printed out a smaller, full color 8.5 x 11 board for me, when I “roll the dice”. But I printed the larger tracker board (in sections) and taped it on a large sticky easel pad sheet, with some of the gazillion rolls of washi I have. Now, when I land on a space, I take it down and color it in. It’s been super fun, and Olive the Cat likes to flop all over it when I take it down from the wall, so she’s happy!

So where have my rolls of the dice taken me, so far?

The Dungeon

Because of course that’s the first place I’d land! I had to choose a book with a prisoner hero so I looked through my TBR and chose All Chained Up (A Devil’s Rock Novel) by Sophie Jordan.

I’ve had this book on my kindle for awhile so, it was about time I got around to it!

Bus Stop

My second role landed me at the Bus Stop, so I read a book where the characters traveled, Fantastical (Fantasyland #3) by Kristen Ashley. I’ve had this book on my Nook since 2012! And while I read books 1, 2, and 4, I’d never read this one (#3). After I completed it, I re-read the fourth book, Broken Dove, so I can finish the series with Midnight Soul (#5), the last in the series. While these won’t count toward the Romance-o-poly Challenge, they’ll be more books off my TBR!

So, only a couple weeks in to the challenge and already books are being read from my TBR mountain range, and to me, that’s what matters! Maybe eventually I can get it down to a more manageable size, though that might take me a good ten times ’round the Romance-o-poly board, to accomplish that!

Anyway, how’s your Romance-o-poly challenge going? Any great books or authors you’ve found as a result of the challenge? Are you doing any other reading challenges to clean up your TBR piles? Let me know in the comments, and happy reading!
